Terms of Service

Version 2.2 — Last updated: 2026-05-15

At a glance

We know what it takes to get a project off the ground. That is why: your IP is sacred, we stay out of your business, and you can leave whenever you want with your data. We bring the technology, you bring the talent.

SlateCore App is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool your production company subscribes to in order to organize the development of audiovisual projects. The Service is billed by subscription, with cancellation available at any time. To use the Service you accept these Terms together with the Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the "SlateCore App" Service (hereafter "the Service") available at slatecore.app and its subdomains, you accept these Terms of Service in their entirety. If you do not agree with any provision, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a contract between you and/or the entity you represent and SlateCore App, operated under that commercial name with notification address in Morelos, Mexico.

2. Service description

SlateCore App is a comprehensive audiovisual development management platform for production companies, film schools and industry professionals. It includes, among other features: project management, scripts and versions, AI-powered content analysis and generation, production breakdown, work plans, budgets, calendar and events, team management, CRM, data rooms, financial tools and reporting.

The Service is continuously updated. Some features may be added, modified or retired over time (see §12).

3. Account model: Production companies and Users

The Service operates with two independent levels:

3.1 Production company (workspace or tenant)

The organization that subscribes to the Service. The person who creates the production company ("Director" or "Owner") declares to be authorized to do so and accepts these Terms on behalf of that organization. The production company is responsible for the content uploaded to its workspace and for the actions of the users it invites.

3.2 Users

Natural persons whom the production company authorizes to access the workspace. Each invited user personally accepts these Terms upon their first sign-in. Users act within the workspace under the control of their production company.

3.3 Acceptance by existing users

For accounts created before the effective date of this version of the Terms, continued use of the Service after the change-notification date constitutes acceptance.

4. Minimum age

The Service is directed at professionals aged 18 and over. Exception: in the Education plan, an academic institution may enroll students. The institution, through its responsible manager, declares that students are of legal age or that it holds the parental consents required by the applicable jurisdiction.

5. Account registration and security

To use the Service you must provide truthful, current and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and credentials (including multi-factor authentication if you enable it).
  • All activity carried out under your account.
  • Notifying security@slatecore.app immediately of any unauthorized access or security incident.
  • Not sharing your credentials with third parties and not using another person's credentials.

6. Plans, payments and billing

6.1 Plans and pricing

Available plans and prices are published at slatecore.app/#pricing. Prices may be updated for new subscriptions; active subscriptions retain their price until the next renewal period, except with at least 30 days' prior notice.

6.2 Trial period

The Service may offer a free trial period to new production companies. Upon expiration, the production company chooses a plan or the workspace becomes inactive. Trial periods are not charged.

6.3 Payment processing and renewal

Payments are processed through Stripe Inc., subject to its terms. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period using the registered payment method. You may cancel renewal at any time from Settings → Plan.

6.4 Cancellation and refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
  • No prorated refunds are issued for partial periods.
  • Purchased AI analysis tokens are non-refundable.
  • After cancellation you have 30 days of read-only access to export your data. After that period, data may be removed from the Service (see Privacy Policy regarding backup retention).
  • It is the customer's exclusive responsibility to export their information before the end of the grace period. SlateCore App is not liable for information not exported in time, including scripts, budgets, breakdowns or other operational files.

6.5 Invoicing

The Service may issue invoices/CFDIs to the production company when it provides the required tax data. CFDIs in Mexico are retained for 5 years in accordance with applicable tax obligations.

6.6 Payment outside Stripe

For customers paying by bank transfer or other means outside Stripe, access continues while payments are current. Payment default may result in workspace suspension.

7. Your content and intellectual property

7.1 Your content is yours

All content your production company or its users upload or generate in the Service (scripts, documents, breakdowns, budgets, comparables, project data, commercial data, financial information, multimedia files, etc.) is your exclusive property or that of the third parties you represent. SlateCore claims no ownership over your content.

The Service is an organizational tool. SlateCore App does not act as agent, representative, associate producer, nor does it intervene in the chain of title of any project. The fact that a script, contract, breakdown or any other material is stored in the Service grants SlateCore App no rights over those projects and does not make it part of the production.

7.2 Limited license to the Service

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and limited license to store, process and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license terminates when you delete the content or cancel the account. SlateCore does not use your content for any commercial, advertising, AI model training or internal analysis purpose.

7.3 AI-generated outputs

Texts, suggestions, analyses, breakdowns, budgets and other materials generated by the Service's AI features are your property without restriction of use. SlateCore does not guarantee originality, accuracy, novelty or absence of overlap with third-party material.

AI results are algorithmic suggestions that may contain errors, inaccuracies or "hallucinations" (information generated inaccurately or fabricated by the model). AI features are an assistant, not an accounting, legal, financial or production expert. The customer assumes all risk arising from financial, budgetary, logistical, cast/crew, legal or other decisions made on the basis of AI outputs, and undertakes to review them before acting upon them.

7.4 SlateCore intellectual property

The Service, its source code, design, "SlateCore" brand, logos, documentation and other associated intellectual property are the exclusive property of the Operator and are protected by applicable laws. Copying, modifying, distributing, selling, renting, reverse engineering or creating derivative works of the Service without written authorization is prohibited.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Store or process illegal content, content that infringes third-party rights, fraudulent, offensive, defamatory or malicious content.
  • Access accounts, workspaces, data or systems that are not yours.
  • Upload malware, viruses, malicious scripts or any code that may harm the Service or other users.
  • Conduct massive automated scraping, attempt to evade plan limits or create duplicate accounts for that purpose.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the Service's source code.
  • Resell, sublicense or redistribute access to the Service without written authorization.
  • Send unsolicited communications (spam) through Service features.
  • Interfere with the Service's operation or deliberately overload its resources.

9. Features involving third parties — tenant responsibility

The Service offers several features that allow external persons to interact with your production company's material. When your production company enables these features, it assumes the following responsibilities:

9.1 Public booking (demo agenda)

Visitors who schedule calls with your production company provide contact data. Your production company declares to comply with applicable data protection laws regarding those visitors (LFPDPPP, GDPR or others depending on the visitor's jurisdiction).

9.2 Submissions (script intake)

When you enable submissions intake, third parties may send material to your production company. You are responsible for:

  • Establishing a clear agreement with the sender regarding rights to use the received material.
  • Respecting intellectual property in the received material.
  • Treating the sender's personal data in accordance with applicable legislation.

9.3 Data rooms

When you publish a data room, the links you generate grant access to those you share them with. You are responsible for controlling who you distribute the links to and the content you choose to include. Data room visit analytics are visible only to your own production company.

9.4 CRM and outbound communications

If your production company sends emails to leads or other persons through the Service's CRM, your production company declares to have the applicable legal basis or consent to do so, and respects applicable anti-spam regulations (LFPDPPP in Mexico, CAN-SPAM in the US, GDPR in the EU, etc.).

9.5 Public API and webhooks

API keys your production company generates are confidential. You are responsible for protecting those keys, as well as for the security of endpoints where you receive webhooks. API requests are subject to published rate limits.

10. Collaboration between production companies

The Service allows two production companies to collaborate on a shared project. When your production company accepts a collaboration invitation:

  • You authorize the other production company's users to access the shared project under the role and modules defined.
  • Each production company remains responsible for the content it uploads.
  • You may revoke collaboration at any time. Revocation immediately removes access.
  • Revoking access to a collaborating production company does not erase data that production company may have already downloaded, exported, copied or backed up while it had access. SlateCore App has no technical ability to delete information that has already left the Service. The handling of that information after revocation is outside SlateCore App's control and is governed by the commercial agreement between the production companies involved.

SlateCore does not mediate disputes between collaborating production companies regarding shared content.

11. Service availability

We strive to keep the Service continuously available, without guaranteeing 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Interruptions may occur due to:

  • Scheduled or emergency maintenance.
  • Failures in infrastructure providers outside the Operator's control.
  • Force majeure events (see §20).

When reasonably possible, scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance.

12. Experimental features

Some features may be labeled "Beta", "Preview" or equivalent. These features are offered without guarantee of continuity, stability or conformity to specifications. They may be modified or retired without notice. Their use is optional and at your own risk.

13. Privacy

The processing of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy in force, which forms an integral part of these Terms. By accepting these Terms, you also accept said Policy.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

  • The Service is provided "as is", without express or implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
  • The Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages (including, without limitation, lost profits, data loss, loss of business opportunities or loss of reputation), even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • The Operator's total aggregate liability to the customer over a 12-month period is limited to the amount actually paid by the customer for the Service during that same period.
  • The Operator is not liable for content uploaded or generated by users, nor for decisions the customer or third parties make based on AI outputs.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator (including its officers, employees and contractors) against any claim, demand, loss or reasonable expense (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service.
  • The content you or your production company's users upload (including third-party intellectual property claims).
  • Your breach of these Terms or applicable legislation.
  • Your use of features involving third parties (§9), including claims by booking visitors, submission authors, data room invitees or recipients of outbound communications.

16. Suspension and termination

The Operator may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You breach these Terms or the Privacy Policy.
  • You incur in payment default.
  • You use the Service for illegal purposes or that harm the Operator, other users or third parties.
  • Required by a competent authority.

Where the situation allows, prior notice and a reasonable cure period will be granted before termination. After termination, the export period described in §6.4 applies.

You may terminate your account at any time from Settings → Plan or by writing to legal@slatecore.app.

17. Modifications to these Terms

The Operator may modify these Terms over time. Material changes will be notified by email to active accounts at least 15 calendar days in advance. The "Last updated" date above reflects the version in force.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the change constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must cancel your account before the effective date.

18. Notices

Notices from the Operator to the customer are sent to the email registered in the account. Notices from the customer to the Operator are sent to legal@slatecore.app.

19. Governing law and jurisdiction

For customers in Mexico: these Terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Mexican States. Any controversy will be submitted to competent courts with jurisdiction in the state of Morelos, Mexico.

For customers outside Mexico: the same provisions apply, except where the mandatory local legislation of your jurisdiction provides otherwise regarding personal data protection or consumer rights.

In all cases, the parties will attempt to resolve disputes in good faith before initiating judicial actions.

20. Miscellaneous

  • Assignment: you may not assign your rights under these Terms without prior written consent of the Operator. The Operator may assign these Terms in the context of a corporate reorganization, merger or asset sale.
  • Severability: if a clause is declared invalid or unenforceable, the others remain in force.
  • No waiver: the Operator's omission to demand compliance with any clause does not constitute waiver of the right to demand it in the future.
  • Entire agreement: these Terms together with the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Agreement when applicable constitute the complete agreement between the parties and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject matter.
  • Force majeure: neither party will be liable for breach due to events beyond its reasonable control (natural disasters, armed conflicts, massive internet or infrastructure failures, acts of authority, pandemics, etc.).
  • Survival: clauses regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law and jurisdiction survive termination of these Terms.
